Harm’s Way Spring Tour 2010 Journal
Ok so we got back from the most recent tour a week ago, it’s taking me longer and longer to actually post the pictures and stories whenever we get back home but I’m trying.
The first night we played Cleveland at Tower 2012 with our friends Beartrap and found out that our old pal Charles was going to be playing with them (and therefor us) for the next 4 days. The show was great, everyone played well, I kind of like Ohio now.
The only thing I have from this place is:

And it really is.
Somehow I didn’t manage to get a picture of the van we took with us, but the thing was awesome. It was a late 80′s/early 90′s red Chevy 12 passenger van that has had a lot of work. Big thanks to Vince and our friends in Thieves.

This was however the view from the inside, it was one sweet ride.

Here was an interesting rest stop find… The name kind of explains why I took a picture.

This was how my ride to Quakerstown was… it was fucking awesome, and we learned the intro to Dividian by Machine Head on the way there.
(in case you don’t know)
Quakerstown PA was a pretty awesome show, one of the best I’ve ever played in Pennsylvania for sure. The next day we were playing Albany NY, but for the night we were staying with our pal and honorary band mate Michael Morrissey in Philadelphia.
We’ve had some interesting times in New York before, and we’ve never played Albany before, so I was a little skeptical on how the show was going to be.

The urinals gave me good reassurances.
I joke, but the show itself was awesome, and we unveiled our new merchandising masterpiece:

They should be available on the Big Cartel soon, Mills sold separately.
This has also become my most favorite HW shirt we’ve ever done:

After the show Justin, of Closed Casket Activities fame , took us to a place called Bombers in Albany and show us the Vegan “Chicken” nugget burrito and BBQ Tofu sweet potato fries… it was probably the best thing I have ever eaten on the East Coast. Highly recommended.
After that we went to our new friend Pat’s place and crashed, but not before James met his new companion:

Marcus.
The next day we were playing Haverhill MA at the Anchor’s Up with local favorites Revenge so we had a nice drive into Massachusetts.

For whatever reason, Andrew walked around like this for most of the day.

I know you can’t tell, but that’s a Rise and Fall sticker. I planned on taking a picture of everyone that I saw… but then I forgot.
That night we decided to stay in a hotel to get some sleep before the next show/day of driving. Before that we went to a Denny’s in Haverhill and ate. While we were there we saw the largest human being I have ever seen in my life, and I am truly not exaggerating.

This was me trying to take a picture of the guy and feeling bad… It was like a battle in my head. I honestly think the guy was over 7′ tall… he had to duck in the doorway at a Denny’s. Incredible.
So I think that night we were supposed to play in New Jersey at a house show.

Caught in a nice moment.
Ok so this may be controversial, but it was on this drive that we heard about and saw pictures of that Michelle Bombshell chick. I fell in love with her (hence the controversy). I’m not feeling her Alien Nation forehead, but other than that I’m sold. I understand Jesse. (kind of)
But I mean come on:

There were many mixed reviews about her, but whatever. Like I said I’m not crazy about:

Moving on.
We went back to Philly that night and had the day to wander around/eat things.

Chocolate water ice and vanilla custard… YES.

Mills foreground, Michael Vick’s place background.

Scenic.

Finally saw the Star Wars Adidas (I just used that KoRn song to remember how to spell Adidas) line, and in person they’re just as ugly as you would expect.

We got back to our van and found a lil note from out friends in Bank Robber from Denver. Very clever.
That night was the house show as I said, but once we got there and literally right before we played the landlady came and shut the show down like 2 seconds after Mills set up his drums.
Then we went to Fridays.

People got a little silly, and someone may or may not have given our waitress his phone number, to which she later texted.
The next show was Baltimore at the Charm City art space, which used to be in a super tiny basement, but got moved next door to a much larger garage type space.

I got this from a little wizard shop nearby that sells tasty healthy stuff.
We played with friends Coke Bust and Madrudergrind that night and both of their sets were awesome.
Here’s a video of 2 new songs from that night:
We stayed with Chris that night, got some solid BBQ tofu from a near by hot spot and settled in.
The next day we decided that we were going to go to one of the 2 Chipotle’s in the world that serve the Vegan “Chicken”, it wasn’t far away in DC.

It was delicious and actually tasted just like the real chicken there, I really hope they decide to do this all over because it was fucking great.

Then the rear-view mirror fell off.
Fast forward to Friday and we were staying in Richmond for United Blood, we played the next day.

We stayed in the same swanky hotel that Convicted stayed in the year before when we played UB, only this time on the 14 floor (which is really the 13th).
The fest was awesome, saw a lot of old friends which was great, and saw some solid bands. Most notably was Foundation and their insanely fun set. We also found out on the road to this that we’re going to be touring with them and a few others ( Rotting Out Backtrack ) this May/June and playing Rainfest.

Everything went great and we only had one more day of tour until we were back home, the next night was in Nitro West Virginia. Nitro.
Our friends from Indiana who had gone to UB decided to go to the show in Nitro, and those lucky few were the only ones to see us play 4 new songs instead of 3 like we had been doing per night. o0o0o0o0o0o
So that was that, we drove straight from Nitro to Chicago that night and I was home by 7AM.
Thanks for reading.
